Gregory Annenberg Weingarten

Gregory AnnenbergGregory Annenberg Weingarten, a Vice President and Director of the Annenberg Foundation, lives in Paris, France and is an artist with a deep appreciation for the visual and performing arts, education, and global well-being.

At Gregory’s direction, the Foundation provides funding to the World Monuments Fund which preserves works of art and architecture with cultural and historical significance.   The Foundation’s multi-year funding is being used to establish the Annenberg Program for Endangered Cultural Heritage in the Developing World.   Within the U.S., the Museum of Modern Art in New York receives support for their German Expressionist Digitization Project.   Gregory serves as a member of the Board of Overseers for the University of Pennsylvania’s Museum of Archeology and Anthropology where he designated funding to support their exhibit "Amarna, Ancient Egypt’s Place in the Sun."

Among the grantees for which Gregory directed support are the Friends of Fondation de France for education and youth development projects; the American Friends of the Paris Opera & Ballet; the Film Arts Foundation; the Center for the Study of International Communications; and the Santa Barbara Zoological Foundation for their California Condor exhibit and rescue work.

The American Academy of Dance in Paris is a signature project of Gregory's.  His interest and investment in the Academy, which provides an innovative approach to dance instruction for both children and adults, has enabled the school to increase capacity and make a greater impact on the community.
