3. Walter Iooss Gives Lecture

Just a reminder that on November 14, the Annenberg Space for Photography kicks off the IRIS Nights free lecture series with a special Saturday night lecture by Walter Iooss, one of our featured photographers in the new exhibit SPORT: Iooss & Leifer.

Walter Iooss is best known for his nearly 300 Sports Illustrated covers, as well as his portraits of famous athletes like Michael Jordan, Ken Griffey, Jr., Brett Favre, Joe Montana and Wayne Gretzky. In his career, Iooss has covered virtually every major sports event, including all 43 Super Bowls, and has also photographed performers like the Rolling Stones, James Brown, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin while working as an in-house photographer for Atlantic Records.

In 2004, Iooss received the Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sports Photography.

The lecture is completely booked, but we have had good luck in seating limited numbers of walk-in attendees in past lectures. Please show up at least 15 minutes before the lecture to get on the stand-by list.
