Chris Johns

As editor in chief of National Geographic magazine, Chris Johns is leading the magazine's transformation into digital publishing, overseeing both the print edition of the magazine and the award-winning digital version with a focus on telling memorable stories in unforgettable ways.  Under his leadership, the magazine has won numerous accolades, including 15 National Magazine Awards. In 2008, Johns was named Editor of the Year by Advertising Magazine. Before becoming Editor-in-Chief, he was a field photographer for more than 20 years.
